Blokarts can be an inclusive sport for people with disabilities

Blokarting is a competitive sport that might appeal to you, especially if like a bit of adventure or are a thrill-seeker. There is usually a way to adapt to what life throws at you, so that you can keep doing what’s important to you. If competition is important to you, but you can’t manage your sport anymore, and you’re looking for a new game, then maybe blokarting is for you.

Cecilia has retained sport in her life as a sitskier and with blokarting. Attending a course organised by ‘Back Up’ early on in her recovery helped her to adapt to sport and learn that she could do more in a wheelchair than she ever thought possible.

Sometimes, adapting happens in ways you never anticipated. Finding inspiration to keep exercising and moving can help you to make exercise stick even when it feels like the last thing you want to do. Maybe blokarting is your inspiration, or you might already have a passion that helps keep you motivated.

Living with chronic pain and fatigue or a disability is tough. Having something in your life that you love helps and sometimes its the small things we do that make a difference.
